Printing What Would Bigfoot Do? on antique letterpress |
Books and Zines!Books - I have always loved books, and am interested in making small editions of letterpress books with original linoleum or wood block designs and handset antique type. I print on the antique letterpress equipment at the IPRC in Portland, Oregon. I am working on a new book about Jake the Alligator Man which I want to get out in 2009! Zines - A zine (pronounced "zeen") is a non-commercial, independent publication, generally for a specialized audience, created in a small run. Many are made by collaging text and images and reproducing on a photocopier. Zines are the ultimate DIY (Do It Yourself) publications! They allow many people a voice who wouldn't be included in traditional publications, and are an inexpensive and creative way to self-publish. I create my zines in Adobe InDesign, print on a printer and staple bind by hand with a long-arm stapler. There's no wrong way to make a zine! To purchase: You can purchase the books and zines on this page directly from this site through Paypal. (Click the images for more information or to purchase.) Or you can email or call me with your order. Thanks for looking! All images are copyrighted Debra C. West. All rights reserved. |
