Handprinted Cards

Animals | Bikes |Christmas | Halloween | Northwest Landscapes | Northwest Creatures | Valentine's Day

For most of my cards, I carve original linoleum or wood block designs and print them on the antique letterpress equipment at the IPRC in Portland, Oregon. All the type is set by hand. The cardstock is hand fed onto the press, and I make multiple passes for each separate element of the card. It's really fun to do!

I also make cards using Print Gocco - a mini hand-silkscreen process from Japan. It's fun and easy, and great has colors! Again, thanks to the IPRC where I learned gocco!

Northwest Landscapes Cards

Mount St. Helens - Loowit

mount st helens

Blank inside. Card back text includes English and Native names, location and height.

$5 each

This two-color/two-block woodcut print card captures the view from Spirit Lake. I hiked around Mount St. Helens in Aug. 2007. It is a fascinating mountain, always venting a little bit of steam!

The envelope decoration is a handmade huckleberry stamp - so many good ones were ripe when I was there! Yummm!

Mount Hood - Wy 'East

$5 each

My second tw0-color/two-block woodcut print features Mount Hood in winter. This is the view from Powell Butte near Portland - one of my favorite places..

There are so many beautiful trees on and around Mount Hood, I created a tree stamp for the envelope decoration.

Northwest Creatures Cards

Jake the Alligator Man

Jake

Jake lives! I met the real Jake this summer at Marsh's Free Museum in Long Beach, Washington and we instantly became friends. I asked him about all those stories in the tabloids, and it turns out they were lies. According to Jake, he never ate anyone's baby in Florida. Thank goodness!

Caddy (Sea Serpent)

caddy

The Cadborsaurus ("Caddy") is a giant, prehistoric sea serpent which has been seen along the Northwest coast from Alaska to Northern California. A Caddy was most recently seen in 2006 in British Columbia. Read More.

Sasquatch (Bigfoot)

sasquatch

There's a lot of evidence that Sasquatches (aka Bigfoots) really exist, and in more places than just the Northwest! Maybe they are just really smart, and know a lot more about hiding in the woods than we do. Seriously, read about it for yourself.

Aliens

In 1950, McMinnville, Oregon was the home of a UFO sighting by a couple on a farm. There was never an official explanation for the flying saucer that glided silently over their property, and the famous photos they took are believed to be authentic. Read more.

Spooky and Sisko, are my favorite fluffy best friends! Sisko and I first met in a crowded kitty adoption site and instantly fell in love. Spooky adopted me in 1998 after briefly living under a bush near my stairs. He has led an adventurous life, though is much calmer now.
